With the VisSim/Comm Turbo Codes toolbox, you can quickly and efficiently simulate the performance of a wide range of turbo coded systems. You may specify any arbitrary parallel concatenated convolutional code, as long as it consists of two rate one-half constituent recursive systematic convolutional (RSC) encoders. Alternatively, you can use a provided design that complies with the UMTS third generation cellular standard. Because the toolbox is part of the mature VisSim/Comm product, you have access to all of the capabilities and blocks available in VisSim/Comm. This allows you to accurately predict the performance of a turbo coded system in the presence of realistic system parameters such as bandlimited filters, ISI channels, and nonideal receivers.
